The orthotists used plaster of paris bandages to make the casts for my legs. These bandages are no different to the ones used for broken bones. The casts were checked for position and allowed to start to dry... (anyone who has ever had a plaster cast will know that as it dries, it gives out a lot of heat which feels lovely!).
