To make the magic happen the first thing I had to do was to have both my legs plastered from my hips to my toes. The orthotists put stockings on my legs to stop the plaster sticking to my skin. Then they used pens to mark up the anatomical points on my legs onto the stockings.
Next a plastic strip was inserted all the way down the front of my legs. This was so that they could cut the casts off without cutting me!
