Fi has a condition affecting her back which has caused her spine to twist both the forward and sideways. It is called neuromuscular kyphoscoliosis. This spine can get to a certain degree of curve and remain very stable at this. But unfortuantely it Fi's case the curves were progressive and had to be rodded to prevent futher deterioration
In the x-rays below you can see how the curve developed (2003 to 2005) and how dramatic a difference the surgery has made.
